T
here is a growing body of evidence that healthy lifestyle factors such as eating
well and exercising regularly provide significant health benefits, possibly even
offering protection against some cancers. Research also suggests that exercise
can reduce the side effects such as fatigue, weight gain, loss of muscle tone and
insomnia for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
Candy’s Place Cancer Resource Center “Cancer Recovery Through Exercise
Program” consists of various classes geared for the cancer patient, taught by certi-
fied instructors in a spacious, warm and safe environment specially designed for
the needs of cancer patients. Classes feature stretching, relaxation, beginner yoga,
tai chi, and light cardiovascular and strength training.
